MEMORIES STILL FRESH!

FROM SORROW TO AFCON CHAMPIONS
February 12th 2012, what a day to remember when Zambia beat the star-studded Ivory coast in the African Cup of Nations (AfCON) finals in Libreville, Gabon. I remember watching the game with my Zambian friends. The atmosphere was so intense, not only because it was a dream come true for the Chipolopolo boys from Zambia to be in the finals but also that the boys put up a splendid performance. From the moment the whistle blew to start the game it was evident Zambia had come to accomplish one mission. To win and honour the souls of the former Zambian team players who died in a plane crash in 1993 in the same country of Gabon. The former players met their fate on the way to the World Cup qualifier tournament.
Luck was indeed on the Zambian boys as through the game, we watched the Ivorian star Didier Drogba miss a penalty 10 minutes before the final whistle. It was a moment that fuelled further the energy levels of my Zambian friends. They chanted vernacular songs throughout the game. One song that got my attention is the one that literally translated that the Chipolopolos , which means bullets( Zambian team) will fire and kill the elephants(Ivory coast team). The Ivorian captain who is also Chelsea striker and African footballer of the year 2006 and 2009 could have done better if only he knew his penalty would have claimed his team a win as there was no goal conceded in  the  full time played. The game ended up in penalty shoot-outs. Now this was the time I really witnessed my friends going through an emotional roller coaster. It was one dramatic penalty shoot-outs I haven’t watched in years since the UEFA champions’ league finals between Manchester United and Chelsea in 2008.
As the penalty shoot-out progressed to penalty number 8, all it needed was for one team to miss and grant opportunity to the other to grab the trophy. I saw my Zambian friends go through a swing of emotions, from celebrating to nervousness. Thanks to one Zambian man Stophira Sunza who managed to score the last needed penalty. Sunza’s kick into the net declared Zambia’s redemption win and ensured that every able Zambian was shouting on top of his lungs and jumping up and down in celebrations. It all ended 8-7, Zambia had done it. Zambia had beaten Ivory Coast. One chipolopolo(bullet) dropped dead the elephants.

BALL ON GOAL BLUES.....

The weekend could not get any sweeter without Chelsea’s sweet victory against Arsenal. To add cherry on top, Manchester United got a bitter loss to Tottenham. Chelsea keeps impressing fans with a good record of wins at the moment in the Barclays premier league. Meanwhile the blues can relax and rest assured that at least their number one defender, John terry has retired from international football. Who wouldn’t be happy, knowing your player has at least been spared from injuries…A big shout out to all Liverpool fans for the first  win, since the season started this year.

2012...WHATS NEXT IN 2013?!

The Googlemobile  packed with radar sensors
(Source: autonews.com)
California took the fast lane to the future on Tuesday when Gov. Jerry Brown signed a law that lets self-driving cars onto public roads. Brown rode to the signing ceremony at Google Inc. headquarters in the passenger seat of a vehicle that steered itself, a Prius modified by Google.
Google co-founder Sergey Brin and State Sen. Alex Padilla, who sponsored the bill, were along for the ride. An engineer for the technology company,Chris Urmson, sat in the driver's seat, but the car drove itself. "We're looking at science fiction becoming tomorrow's reality," Brown said just before signing the bill. Google has been working on self-driving technology since 2010, including testing a fleet of self-driving cars along California roadways. Google's driverless cars rely on video cameras, radar sensors, lasers and a database of information collected from manually driven cars to help navigation, according to the company. The new law goes into effect next year and establishes safety and performance regulations for testing driverless cars, provided an operator is ready to take control if necessary. However, it will likely take years before a fully self-driving autonomous vehicle hits the road, industry official say. "The self driving car can really dramatically improve the quality of life," said Brin, who pointed to uses ranging from aiding the blind, ferrying revelers who drank too much, to simply making better use of commuting time. He added that by driving closer together more safely than human-driven cars, self-driven cars might cut congestion. But Google has no plans to build its own driverless cars."We have had great conversations with a variety of automakers," he said. "Anything we do is going to be in partnership with the industry."
The technology has been in the works since the 1950s, when General Motors showed off "dream cars" with features such as autopilot. Recently, carmakers have started incorporating into today's models some elements based on the innovations in those early vehicles, including adaptive cruise control or traffic-jam technologies that can slow the car automatically. Carmakers developing autonomous technologies include BMW AG, Ford Motor Co., GM, Honda Motor Co., Hyundai Motor Corp., Mercedes, Nissan Motor Co., Toyota Motor Corp., Volkswagen AG and Volvo AB, as well as suppliers, technology companies and universities. Chip company Intel Corp created a $100 million fund in February to invest in future auto technology. Nevada and Florida have already passed laws allowing self-driving cars.

NURTURING OUR SEEDS..

The same way conception of a child happens when a loving man and wife meet, God desires  us  to also have a loving relationship with Him that willl enable us conceive and nurture the seeds that He plants us. However just like any pregnant mother does in taking care of the seed inside her, we have to do the same with these other seeds. We have to constantly, water them, feed them to make sure what we harvest is in accordance to what God desires of us. God only wants us to produce fruitful seed.
The devil however in his tricky ways, is never happy to see us progress or become productive, particularly in the field that make us glorify God’s kingdom. He constantly tries to bring all sorts of pain to bring us down. Some of his tricky ways include, fear. Fear is the root cause of most eveil. For starters it makes us doubt God’s goodness and mercy upon us, His ability to do things for our good. Fear makes us lose trust in God. Fear makes us listen to the voice that is not Godly, which in most cases brings us down. The devil also uses the trick of making us not get up when we fall, and yet the loving God promises us that He will never leave nor forsake  us. Sometimes God lets the devil try his tricky ways so that when God takes charge, He does it in abundance. Fear causes us to panic, it makes us to be impatient. We tend up questioning so much on when our harvest or birthing will come and yet, our God is a God of plan, purpose and timing. He rightly prepares us so that when we harvest, its of value.
There are ways to protect and nurtute the different  seeds that God plants in us; We have to stay in His word and teaching by constantly reading the bible, we have to attend church, prayer meetings, listen to his songs and teaching. We have to have a heart of thanksgiving. When we are grateful we are constantly reminded that our God is a provider, supplier, moulder, mentor and our strenghth to carry the seed when times become tough!

CREATED TO BIRTH LIFE

What a fantastic way to end the mid-term break. I attend a woman of destiny conference. The conference ran for two days Friday and Saturday. It was themed “Created  to Birth Life”. I love it when women meet for such conferences. Not only do we get the freedom to express our deep feelings towards the reality of life, but there is also so much that we learn from each other. One woman’s story is always worth an encouragement to face the future no matter what it brings. There is always a sense of ‘if she overcame that, I can also overcome this’.
Looking at the theme I also learnt that as a Woman, not only were we created to birth life in the physical, there is more to it.  God has placed different seeds  which are the giftings in us that are just like a little baby  for us to conceive,  carry, nurture  and birth. These giftings God rightly plants in us. They include counseling, ministering, interceding, caring, etc. We have the privilege and responsibility to receive such a seed and water it until its ready to come out.  Just like pregnancy pains, we should expect that birthing these seeds  will not a smooth ride.  Pain of all sorts will come along and If we are not careful enough we can miscarry.
The message was just in season for me. Recently I got challenged in one area where God placed a calling. I have been called to minister through music among main other giftings.  Devil thinking he knew me better, I got stabbed in the back by my very own friends I never expected. It hurt so much that I even thought of quitting. OMG I would have miscarried my seed. Thank God that the little faith that remained in me, made me strong and God in His mighty power brought about revelation as to why everything happened the way it did. From today onwards, I have made up my mind to never look back and allow people discourage me on what God has gifted me to do. I am His precious daughter. He created me for a purpose. He set me a part for greater exploits. He rightly molded me and carries me on the palm of His  hand. I am a Woman of destiny!!

TALK....TALK....

Months before his death, there were roars of insults and curses circulating around the social networks. It was as  if the late president of Malawi hadn’t done anything good for the Country. That he secured food for his people, it was quickly forgotten. Not that it surprised me much, for it is easy to remember the wrong that people do than the good they do
What shocked me was, in the midst of fuel and forex shortages, some people ended up comparing the Country to Sodom and Gomorrah. Really?! But just as they say, talk is cheap. Today the Country seems to be in worst “Sodom and Gomorrah”. Reports on different media cite that crime has accelerated like never before in the Malawian History. (You will agree with me that crime was one of the atrocities of Sodom n Gomorrah). I also hear there is scarcity of water. As for devaluation, don’t even make me go there, last holiday was something else. I come from town and life was tough, what more with those in the villages.
When new Government took over, the message that offered hope and encouraged many was the message of love and forgiveness. But what followed? Vengeance.  I have never understood why in Many African Countries; particularly mine, when Government changes, it means people losing jobs. The bible commands us love. It says Love is the greatest gift of all. Where there is love, God commands blessings. How do we possibly expect to have an economic breakthrough without love? When we see others being tortured such as losing a job, we celebrate. I wonder why??

SHAKE OFF...PRESS ON...

TODAY’S WORD from Joel and Victoria
Anytime you set out to do something great in life, there will be critics. If you’re going to be a great businessperson, coach, student, leader or employee, there will be opposition. The more success you have, the more opportunities there will be for distractions. The higher you go, the more haters will come out. When you start stretching to a new level and pur...

suing what God has placed in your heart, the jealous people, the critical people, and the small-minded people come out of the woodwork and start making negative comments, but you don’t have to let that distract you.

If you are under pressure today, if the critical voices are coming against you, know that it’s because you are making a difference. Don’t let them throw you off course. Instead, dig your heels in, set your face like a flint, and say, “I will not get distracted. I will not get drawn into battles that don’t matter. It doesn’t matter what others think; it matters what God thinks!”

Today, look beyond the critics. Stand strong in adversity. Press forward to what lies ahead and win the prize of life that He has prepared for you!

NGONI BEST

There is so much that defines culture. Whatever attributes to one's culture,  whether it is  dress, food or dance, there is always that special thing that one can hold on to so dearly. Being a Ngoni, i must say one thing I am so proud of  is the dress code. The Ngoni dress code has for years remained very symbolic when it comes to culture. From head gear, animal skin wrapped around the body,  to  dangling beads around waists and ankles, it is a cultural sight worth looking at. Last holiday i had the opportunity of looking at this majestic sight of Ngoni wear...

What a month it has been. The dream finally came true for Britain to host the most anticipated International Event, The Olympics. Some may say their opening ceremony wasnt so great, others may say it was wonderful. Whatever different perception people may have, the truth still remains Britain did it. It is a dream for any Country to host such a prestigious event. Obviously for the obvious reasons. Which Country doesnt want visitors to bring in Forex.

But well, as for us viewers, i must say, Olympics has never been this entertaining. I dont really know what it is. But it seems people from all sector of life have been a part of this. People who dont even like  sports have been noted talking greatly of this event. Should i say that maybe its the culture that has come along  with Social netwoerks? Whatever it is i must say, this new new media of facebook, twitter, blogs etc  is really  bridging the communication gap that hasnt been there the past decades.

RANDOM THOUGHT

I come from a less developed country I owe it to the women of my country and other developing nations to give them a chance to rehabilitate themselves. Gender inequalities undermine the ability of women and girls to exercise their rights and to be active partners in response, rehabilitation, and development. My mother always say, building a strong house requires a strong foundation. Women lay a foundation for any household.....

NO NEUTRALITY IN BELIEF

Positive attitude is not a feeling. It is a choice. The evil one is always looking for ways to take our positive attitude. When we lack it what follows is discouragement, disillusion, hatred, fear, etc. But God in His faithfulness provides as with a key or instruction so that we are able to live in the fullness of His Kingdom and be able to overcome negativity. This weapon is none other than ‘Faith’. Faith demands a positive attitude. For instance when trials come through, a simple declaration of “ I am an over comer”  is more than enough to maintain our positive attitude regardless of the situation.
Faith is a belief. Beliefs determine components of our nature and approach towards things. There is no neutrality in a belief. It’s either you believe it or not. Now this evil one called devil knows that once he plants a negative seed in our life, if we are not strong enough, we are going to water it. And like any seed, that seed sprouts out into a bigger plant of negativity, leading our lives into greater misery of pain, self-pity, remorse, etc.
Now God’s Kingdom provides us with an opportunity of Faith that dwells on positive things. For instance, when things are not on our side, there is hope. God Himself promises to take care of whatever situation we are in so long as we trust Him. Psalm 34 says, “ Taste and See that the lord is good”. Surely there is no harm in trying. Proverbs 16:3 says, ‘depend on the Lord in whatever you do, and your plans will succeed”.
Again we cannot refute that the basis of faith is trust. Now to trust somebody one needs to know Him. God calls us to know Him. From the beginning of time through history He has done wonders to show who He is. If you are still in doubt, simply try to renew your mind and meditate on His word. He promises change through a revelation. He promises to reward those who diligently seek Him. Do not let fear that is at war with God’s Kingdom to win you over. Fear only brings a negative attitude. Nurture a positive attitude and be a winner. A winner walking in the fullness of God, holding the amazing gifts of hope, peace, joy and love!

RIDING TO DESTINY

I believe every human being has been placed with specific anointing and talent. A journey that takes one to a particular destination which I call destiny. I look around the World and people are crying out to reach their destiny. It is that kind of journey that is not always smooth. As a matter of fact most of it is rough. So how can one overcome such roughness? Sometimes it’s all about offloading the heavy load of the past to reach your destination. With heaviness one cannot move forward.

LAKE MALAWI-TRUE BEAUTY

little sis showing off boat ride on the blue waters of Lake Malawi
Just arriving at the Lake..

Lake Malawi- the true beauty of Africa. If you are looking for peace and calm with just enticing sounds of birds and water waves, Lake Malawi is the place to be. If you are looking for a taste of a delicacy of fish ever created, Lake Malawi is the place to be. This beautiful Lake runs from the Northern part of the country to the Southern part of the Country. What a convenience. People all over the country have a wider choice of which part of the Lake to visit. My favourite is Salima. Its near home and I enjoy driving through its beautiful scenery. A holiday is never a holiday without a visit to the lake. Warmth and friendliness of people around the lake makes you feel like there is no hate in this world. A perfect day starts with a lovely breakfast just outside hotel room, then on to a beach straw. If you are with a loved one, a walk on the beach holding hands is magical. I personally don’t mind spending three hours just chilling on the beach before I take lunch. Perfect lunch is best served on the beach resorts. Livingstonia is my favourite. After a perfect Chambo fish lunch and a proper cool-off,  a boat ride is undeniably an event worth taking….whatever follows after that, it is your own adventure!

BACK IN MALAWI

It feels good to be home after about six months.. I am surely enjoying all the food i missed....and ofcourse being around mommy is the spice of my life..She is such an amazing woman.. i could never trade her for anything.. The weather isnt so bad like i thought it would be. Ofcourse this is our winter season, but i must say it  feels like summer. i do not need to walk around in boots and scarfs like i was doing in Mzansi.
Politics seems dirty as usual. I cant say much on the new leader we have. so far she has at least tried to bring us fuel. Can't agree much on some of the policies she is trying to bring just to appease the donors.. When will my people ever learn to work hard and not live a life of just receiving. Oh well, it appears we are no longer hosting the African Union summit. i was really looking forward. I thought it would put us on a platform..But well if it has been done for a good cause, then long-live genuine democracy in Malawi.
Devaluation seems another hicup. Malawi is very poor. I feel the devaluation percentage is too much. I have noted that alot of people in the Urban areas are already struggling so much. what more with my people in the village? God help us.

MEAT, MEAT AND MORE MEAT

A taste of crocodile?! no thank you...

The Spot is called Carnivores.  The Carnivores restaurant  is situated in natural surroundings,  facing the Krugersdorp hills.  Being a meat -lover alone doesn’t justify you to visit this place. You have to be adventurous and dynamic. When I was told, this was where my friends and I were heading to for dinner, I said, “wait a minute, I love meat but I don’t think I am that fierce to be called a carnivore”. I thought the menu would just be the random beef, chicken, or pork. My word! Crocodile, Impala, Zebra, Kudu and other game animals were also the specialty of the night..For a minute I thought I was in dreamland, until when the waiter came over with a round of crocodile. The meat looked tender and appetizing, but the thought of  how a live crocodile looks  and its character of devouring human beings, I said no no no, tonight I will not be so adventurous. We were four of us. My chicken and pork was enough for me but to my amazement the rest of my friends ate everything else that came through. By the way this is how service is done, U get seated at a table, like the norm in most restaurants,  you order your drinks and then for the main meal, they put a flag on your table and they bring different  meat in rounds.  So if first round brings chicken, second round brings pork and so forth. You get to eat as much as you want. They only stop serving when you ‘surrender’ and that’s by putting the flag down. Absolutely hilarious! Definitely one of my favorite spots in South Africa.

My Chelsea, My pride.......

Not only have they clinched a double this year..They are also making history as the first football club to sponsor formula one. As reported on Yahoo News, “ Sauber’s  cars will spot the blue logo of the Champions league finalists Chelsea from next week’s Spanish Grand Prix as part of a deal  between the Swiss-based formula one team and the and the European champions”.
Watching Chelsea play in the Champions league final was indeed like watching a fairy tale. They had gone as under dogs, had a tough season and not many expected the blues to be crowned champions. But today all is history. They made it. They have two trophies in the bag. They are the pride of London, The pride of England, the Champions of Europe. They are Chelsea.   In that dramatic final, on the 19th of May 2012, when a Bayern goal came in the 83rd minute, it seemed as if that was it, the end, but Chelsea did not give up nor did they lose hope. They fought on and an equalizer came through 5-minutes later.  And then it was time for shoot or die in the penalties. Oh! Somebody calm my nerves, I can’t stand penalty shoot-outs! O well, they’ve made it, they are the champions of Europe!

CONSTRUCTING A POSITIVE ATTITUDE

It’s Monday again, the most dreaded day for most of us. Having spent so much energy over the weekend doing this and that, getting back into the groove of the week is often boring and can be frustrating at times. I had often failed to keep a positive attitude on a Monday until some two weeks ago when my pastor shared on how to keep a positive attitude. As a matter of fact I learnt that it was not just a Monday thing that kept my positive attitude away. I realized that there are so many other things that fail us as individuals from keeping a positive attitude at times. If you are one of them, here are some tips as shared by my pastor on how to build a positive attitude:-
·         Look for one or two things to be thankful about each day
·         Look at what you have instead of what you could have
·         Avoid comparing yourself
·         Be more outward focused rather than inward focused. For instance here one can look at how you can help someone in need
·         If you are Christian, place your trust in God’s word and promises. As Christians we do this by studying the bible, learning His promises, understanding  them and declaring them
·         Pursue an unselfish love towards those who are nearest to you.
·         Refuse to allow your eyes to see the negative
·         Look for the positive in every circumstance
·         Look for the best in others, Refuse to be critical.

CHELSEA THROUGH TO FA CUP FINALS

The weekend couldn't have finished better without Chelsea's thrilling 5-1 win over Spurs...sitting on my couch nerves tearing me down plus stress of what is to come this week..Tests and assignments, Chelsea managed to pull it off for me..It has been a very entertaining semi final, now waiting to play Liverpool in the finals.Meanwhile Chelsea is also waiting for another big game against Barcelona in the UEFA champs.  What a pride, the only English team that has reached semis of such a big tournament..i guess we might as well crown them England Champions..!

PROUDLY MALAWIAN.....

In any country, when a head of state dies, there is always fear of succession disputes due to all the obvious reasons you can think of. I will not dwell much on that as I consider politics a very unfair game. However let me say I have come to appreciate that my country, Malawi, is a very peace-loving nation. Following the death of our President, His Excellency Dr Bingu wa Mutharika,on April 5th 2012, there were fears here and there that power transition will not go so well, due to the political differences that existed between the late president and the vice president, Joyce Banda, who was now the one in-line for the throne as stated in the constitution. In respect to the constitution, the vice president has now been sworn in as the president of Malawi. A move that has maintained peace across the country. Her Excellency Joyce Banda becomes the first female president in the SADC region. Meanwhile the nation is in 10-day mourning for the late head of state. May the soul of the late father of the nation continue resting in eternal peace, and may the good Lord grant our new president  divine favored wisdom to guide and lead our nation to continued peace, prosperity and unity. Long-live Genuine democracy in Malawi.

PROGRESS TO LOVE

Imagine the world without love, how would it be? When people hear of love, often the relationship that pops up to deal with love, is a man and woman relationship. But love is more than that. To those who believe in God like me, u will agree with me that love is the greatest command that God ever placed on mankind. He tells us that one way we can show Him that we truly love Him is by loving  others. 1 John 4:9 states that God showed how much He loved us by sending His one and only son into the world so that we might have eternal life through Him. As i deliberate more on this command to love, i realise that if all mankind surely obeyed this command, the world will really be a better place to live in. It is evident that love covers lots of aspects other than just telling someone, "i love you baby" or giving that loved one something he or she treasures.  the other book from the bible, 1 Corinthians 13:4-7, shows how love is the greatest. It states," love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is awlays hopefuand endures through every circumstance". As go through this easter season, my dear friends, let us crave for the need to progress the love we have, the need to permanently improve the love we have, and surely develop the love we have.

BE INSPIRED...

People's opinions about our lives have their place, but we can not blame them for their failure to see our own great potential. After all, wisdom for all of us is limited. Out true honor is formed when we follow our heart in spite of people's opinions when there is conflict.
So what are you? peace maker, discourager, motivator or someone who does not see anything good in your friends. Life is funny. The more we learn to appreciate and celebrate others people's success and shine, the more other people will come and celebrate with us when our own moment of glory comes along.

THE JOY OF BIRTHDAYS

I thought growing up meant losing interest in birthday celebrations, i ve just realised i have been wrong. My mind is still filled with flashbacks form the just ended weekend of March 16th. Yes it was my birthday, on a friday, the acclaimed 'father's day'. Well let me begin by stating that i ve never been told that i am loved as much as i have been this year's birthday. Come on now, we all love some little attention. i think i got so much more than i deserve. O well, forgetting that three days before my birthday i had been sick, let me say i could rewind the day over and over again. It sacked going to school on my birthday, but hey sometimes a woman just needs to do what needs to be done. I must say, it ddin't entirely mess my day. It was actually fun getting more love and well wishes from friends around campus.
The clock ticked 7:30pm and i was no where near ready for my 8;00pm dinner. This is one day i   needed three hours of dress and make up. Ofcourse for all the obvious reasons. I was the queen of the night and i had to look it. By 8:15pm, i entered into an amazing setting. The place, the atmosphere was just too beautiful. Friends and family all looked amazing. It wa a time no one  thought about her/his issues at home. We all just wanted to have fun and fun and more fun.The man behind the mic and drums couldn't have done any better to make my night than what he did. He was teriffic..and when  he played my request; 'Lady soul', it was fire...and o yes i could do with a little dance with somebody who loved/loves me... thank you God for adding another year into my life....

COMMIT TO FINISHING STRONG.

I just feel like encouraging my fellow brothers and sisters walking in the Christian life on finishing strong. What is it that as Christians finishing strong calls us to do? We must commit to finishing strong in Christian life. When God chooses us or calls us to a certain task we must always commit to finishing strong. God calls His people to different tasks such as; to preach, to minister, to sing, to care for somebody, to work in a particular organization e.t.c. However let us be aware that there is no mission without facing challenges. We must be prepared that along the journey to accomplish God’s set mission, trials of all sorts will come our way. This is the time that we can then show off our Christian value of faith. Deuteronomy 31:8 says “The Lord Himself goes before you and will be with you; He will lead you; He will never leave you nor forsake you”. Therefore when challenges come our way let us not despair or drop our mission. Let us commit to finishing strong. God Himself assures us that as long as we trust and obey Him, He will stay close to us.  Sometimes when circumstances are so hard and we have no idea or  a plan to fix them, trusting God becomes so difficult. But God throughout history has done things to show us that when we fully commit to trusting Him, He will come through for us. In 2 Chronicles 12, we are told the king of Egypt  attacks Judah, the leaders prayed to God and He came through for them.

Power of Social Network...

A South African woman was saved from two armed robbers who had physically assaulted and threatened to rape her, after updating her Facebook status.
According to The Beeld newspaper, the attackers tied up the woman in her bedroom together with her 10-year-old son. They also stole her cellphone and told her that they would kill her husband when he came home.
The woman then managed to untie herself and her son, before hiding in her wardrobe with her laptop.
From there, she sent out two updates, saying “Please help! We have an armed robbery, they’re waiting for Hennie [her husband] at the gate, please phone him, don’t let him come inside” and Help! Call Hennie. We’ve managed to untie ourselves. They said they would come back to rape me. Armed.”
According to the newspaper, one of her friends saw her message and called for help immediately.
Police and security guards reportedly arrived on the scene within minutes, but the attackers had fled.
Facebook is becoming an increasingly valuable tool in tracking down criminals. Police in the German state of Lower Saxony, for instance, will soon begin using Facebook to help locate missing persons and hunt down suspected criminals.

FROM SORROW TO AFCON CHAMPIONS

February 12th 2012, what a day to remember when Zambia beat the star-studded Ivory coast in the African Cup of Nations (AfCON) finals in Libreville, Gabon.

The Stormy Night

I ve seen it in movies, i ve read it in books and now it was happening to me. not even Chicago snow compares to it. i couldnt wait for the nightmare to end and get home...Wow what an experience i had last night. I was on my way home from my friends' house and boom from nowhere it started pouring with fierce lightining and thunder...Such a scary sight i havent seen in years. All of a sudden the roads flooded, the night was dark and foggy, i couldnt even see where i was going. Cars missed lanes, cars going in opposite direction drove in the same lane. It was absolutely chaotic and frightening, the only thing visible were 'confused' headlights from other cars. The roaring of the thunders, the howling of the winds, the falling of trees and street lights was more than a setting of a horror movie. I thought my life had come to an end The worst moment was when i got to the traffic lights near Gautrain station, a bill board had fallen on the middle of the road, an emergency break had to be made..and guess what? The person behind me nearly hit my car, they had no idea what was ahead of me. A decision had to be made real fast...and that was to seek refugee by the filling station, until the 'horror' died down..What a night..
