SHAKE OFF...PRESS ON...

TODAY’S WORD from Joel and Victoria
Anytime you set out to do something great in life, there will be critics. If you’re going to be a great businessperson, coach, student, leader or employee, there will be opposition. The more success you have, the more opportunities there will be for distractions. The higher you go, the more haters will come out. When you start stretching to a new level and pur...

suing what God has placed in your heart, the jealous people, the critical people, and the small-minded people come out of the woodwork and start making negative comments, but you don’t have to let that distract you.

If you are under pressure today, if the critical voices are coming against you, know that it’s because you are making a difference. Don’t let them throw you off course. Instead, dig your heels in, set your face like a flint, and say, “I will not get distracted. I will not get drawn into battles that don’t matter. It doesn’t matter what others think; it matters what God thinks!”

Today, look beyond the critics. Stand strong in adversity. Press forward to what lies ahead and win the prize of life that He has prepared for you!

NGONI BEST

There is so much that defines culture. Whatever attributes to one's culture,  whether it is  dress, food or dance, there is always that special thing that one can hold on to so dearly. Being a Ngoni, i must say one thing I am so proud of  is the dress code. The Ngoni dress code has for years remained very symbolic when it comes to culture. From head gear, animal skin wrapped around the body,  to  dangling beads around waists and ankles, it is a cultural sight worth looking at. Last holiday i had the opportunity of looking at this majestic sight of Ngoni wear...

What a month it has been. The dream finally came true for Britain to host the most anticipated International Event, The Olympics. Some may say their opening ceremony wasnt so great, others may say it was wonderful. Whatever different perception people may have, the truth still remains Britain did it. It is a dream for any Country to host such a prestigious event. Obviously for the obvious reasons. Which Country doesnt want visitors to bring in Forex.

But well, as for us viewers, i must say, Olympics has never been this entertaining. I dont really know what it is. But it seems people from all sector of life have been a part of this. People who dont even like  sports have been noted talking greatly of this event. Should i say that maybe its the culture that has come along  with Social netwoerks? Whatever it is i must say, this new new media of facebook, twitter, blogs etc  is really  bridging the communication gap that hasnt been there the past decades.

RANDOM THOUGHT

I come from a less developed country I owe it to the women of my country and other developing nations to give them a chance to rehabilitate themselves. Gender inequalities undermine the ability of women and girls to exercise their rights and to be active partners in response, rehabilitation, and development. My mother always say, building a strong house requires a strong foundation. Women lay a foundation for any household.....

NO NEUTRALITY IN BELIEF

Positive attitude is not a feeling. It is a choice. The evil one is always looking for ways to take our positive attitude. When we lack it what follows is discouragement, disillusion, hatred, fear, etc. But God in His faithfulness provides as with a key or instruction so that we are able to live in the fullness of His Kingdom and be able to overcome negativity. This weapon is none other than ‘Faith’. Faith demands a positive attitude. For instance when trials come through, a simple declaration of “ I am an over comer”  is more than enough to maintain our positive attitude regardless of the situation.
Faith is a belief. Beliefs determine components of our nature and approach towards things. There is no neutrality in a belief. It’s either you believe it or not. Now this evil one called devil knows that once he plants a negative seed in our life, if we are not strong enough, we are going to water it. And like any seed, that seed sprouts out into a bigger plant of negativity, leading our lives into greater misery of pain, self-pity, remorse, etc.
Now God’s Kingdom provides us with an opportunity of Faith that dwells on positive things. For instance, when things are not on our side, there is hope. God Himself promises to take care of whatever situation we are in so long as we trust Him. Psalm 34 says, “ Taste and See that the lord is good”. Surely there is no harm in trying. Proverbs 16:3 says, ‘depend on the Lord in whatever you do, and your plans will succeed”.
Again we cannot refute that the basis of faith is trust. Now to trust somebody one needs to know Him. God calls us to know Him. From the beginning of time through history He has done wonders to show who He is. If you are still in doubt, simply try to renew your mind and meditate on His word. He promises change through a revelation. He promises to reward those who diligently seek Him. Do not let fear that is at war with God’s Kingdom to win you over. Fear only brings a negative attitude. Nurture a positive attitude and be a winner. A winner walking in the fullness of God, holding the amazing gifts of hope, peace, joy and love!

RIDING TO DESTINY

I believe every human being has been placed with specific anointing and talent. A journey that takes one to a particular destination which I call destiny. I look around the World and people are crying out to reach their destiny. It is that kind of journey that is not always smooth. As a matter of fact most of it is rough. So how can one overcome such roughness? Sometimes it’s all about offloading the heavy load of the past to reach your destination. With heaviness one cannot move forward.

LAKE MALAWI-TRUE BEAUTY

little sis showing off boat ride on the blue waters of Lake Malawi
Just arriving at the Lake..

Lake Malawi- the true beauty of Africa. If you are looking for peace and calm with just enticing sounds of birds and water waves, Lake Malawi is the place to be. If you are looking for a taste of a delicacy of fish ever created, Lake Malawi is the place to be. This beautiful Lake runs from the Northern part of the country to the Southern part of the Country. What a convenience. People all over the country have a wider choice of which part of the Lake to visit. My favourite is Salima. Its near home and I enjoy driving through its beautiful scenery. A holiday is never a holiday without a visit to the lake. Warmth and friendliness of people around the lake makes you feel like there is no hate in this world. A perfect day starts with a lovely breakfast just outside hotel room, then on to a beach straw. If you are with a loved one, a walk on the beach holding hands is magical. I personally don’t mind spending three hours just chilling on the beach before I take lunch. Perfect lunch is best served on the beach resorts. Livingstonia is my favourite. After a perfect Chambo fish lunch and a proper cool-off,  a boat ride is undeniably an event worth taking….whatever follows after that, it is your own adventure!
